NM Wildfire Updates, 7.12.16., 4:25 PM

246 Fire: Approximately 10 acres of private land have burned just north of Capitan in Lincoln County. Local, state, and federal resources have responded. The fire's forward progress has been stopped. Resources are mopping up the site.

Black Fire: This lightning-caused fire in the Gila National Forest has burned 167 acres of federal land. Multiple ground and air resources--including heavy air tankers and a helicopter conducting bucket work--continue to progress with fire suppression activities. Black Range Complex: There have been no reported changes to the size or activity of this complex fire within the Gila National Forest. It has burned an estimated 245 acres of federal land. The fire is being federally managed for multiple resource benefits.

 

Clavel Fire: This fire near Roy in Harding County has reportedly burned 5,696 acres of private land. The fire is 85% contained. Multiple resources are continuing fire suppression.

Eggert Fire: This lightning-caused fire near mile marker 56 on Hwy. 120 has burned approximately 20 acres of private land. Crews continue to mop up the site.

Puertocito Fire: This ongoing fire in the Cibola National Forest and National Grasslands has burned approximately 65 acres of federal land. Smoke from the fire has been visible in the surrounding area. The lightning-caused fire is being managed for multiple resource benefits.

School Fire: This fire within the Gila National Forest has burned approximately 50 acres of federal land. It is located within the 2006 Bear Fire Burn Scar. Resources are engaged in fire management and suppression activities. Approximately 20 personnel are on site.

Vista Fire: An estimated five acres of private land burned near Nogal in Lincoln County. Local resources contained the grass fire and mopped up the site. Remaining resources are monitoring the area. Unless there are significant changes to the fire's size or behavior, this will be the final notification.

Westfall Fire: This fire burned an estimated 53 acres near Arabela in Lincoln County. It has been 100% contained. Remaining resources are monitoring the site. Unless there is a significant change to the fire's size or behavior, this will be the final notification.
