On Saturday, Congressmen Steve Pearce stopped at the Wrangler Bar and Grill for a Meet and Greet. One of the Grant County residents who turned out to hear Congressman Pearce was Mayor Richard Bauch of Santa Clara who, when asked about why he supports the Congressman, stated that GǣHe cares and stays in touch with his constituents." He elaborated that over the past two years, Pearce has visited Grant County and Silver City many times, not losing touch with the base that many elected officials so often do when they get to Washington, D.C. GǣIt's a personal sacrifice to be a congressmanGǥ and he does a good job of being here as well as taking a bit of New Mexico back to Washington, not forgetting where he comes from.
