Saturday, Aug. 20, a baby shower took place at the Woman's Club.
Adriana Bowen, First Born director, said: "It was our idea, but it took Vera McGregor of the Woman's Club to make it happen."
"We see some parents who have support and others don't," Bowen said. "We felt every new mom deserves a baby shower. The shower is open to new moms.
"You're pregnant, let's celebrate," she continued. "Here are some things you need for the arrival of your baby."
Bowen said the Woman's Club offered the space and donated more than 1,000 disposable diapers.
"We plan to hold the showers twice a year," she said. "In August and in March. We hope to celebrate all the new moms."
