The Silver City Town Council at its Aug. 23, 2016 meeting approved a resolution adopting the Town of Silver City Master Bicycle Plan. District 2 Councilor Lynda Aiman-Smith, Assistant Town Manager James Marshall and Office of Sustainability Director Denise Smith outlined the initiation, development and completion of the plan. Work on the plan began in May 2014 and Community by Design was hired to present the final draft to the town.

Marshall stated the bicycle plan is part of the town's Comprehensive Plan and is listed as a goal in developing a bicycle, trails and pedestrian plan.

 

Silver City Police Chief Ed Reynolds reported that since July 23, when enforcement started regarding the hands free mobile device regulation, 35 citations have been issued.
