Cobre school board held a very brief meeting on Monday, August 22 at the District Office in Bayard. The regular meeting began at 7:15 with three board members present. The earlier closed session, which discussed student identifiable information and limited personnel issues had Robert Montoya, Frances Kelly, Frank Cordova and Toy Sepulveda, the president, but when Montoya was called out suddenly, the board was reduced to a bare quorum.

Unfinished business included the third readings and approvals for Sick Leave policy, Annual Leave policy and Bereavement Leave policies. All three were approved at this meeting.

There were two requests for use of facilities. Southwest Youth Football League asked to use the high school field, and Ruben Udero and family asked to use the Snell and high school wrestling rooms for the Cobre Youth Wrestling program. The first was approved, with the Udero request being tabled until the next meeting to complete more paperwork.
