Silver school board members, at left,  attended another special training session Monday, August 22, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Administrative building. All five were present, as well as John Carter, interim superintendent.

The trainer was Dr. Dan Patterson, pictured below, associated with the New Mexico School Board Association, the group that board members selected to help them with the superintendent search. He began by restating the goal of getting the best leaders possible for its clients, who require leaders for schools, law enforcement groups, fire protection units and similar state services.

 

In this session, he helped the board consider the time schedules needed to bring the proposed search to a successful hiring. He suggested beginning the advertisements by September 4, the first Sunday of the month, and continuing them on the rest of the Sundays of that month. The major carriers could be the Albuquerque Journal and some online groups, which he said would expand that search nationally or even beyond, a good start.
