On Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, at approximately 8:48 p.m., Silver City Police officers were called to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. When officers arrived, EMS personnel were attending to a woman lying on the inside southbound lane of Hudson Street north of the intersection of Broadway. The woman was identified as Rachel Weatherbie of Silver City. According to the police report, Weatherbie was bleeding from her head and face and had sustained severe road rash to both arms. EMS personnel advised that they could smell alcohol on Weatherbie, the report stated, and officers were advised that Weatherbie was going to be airlifted to University Medical Center in El Paso.
