The proposal moves to the Senate for concurrence

Santa Fe, NM - The House passed an amended version of Senate Bill 9 tonight to as part of a package of bills to resolve New Mexico's budget deficit. The measure makes adjustments to state agency funding for FY17. It now moves to the Senate for concurrence.

The House-passed bill blocks a Senate attempt to take $25 million from New Mexico public school districts. It also reverses Senate-proposed cuts to the Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) as well as the Department of Public Safety.
