Grant County had 56.84 percent voter turnout, less than in the 2012 election.

In statewide seats, Democrats took back the House and retain a majority in the Senate.

Grant County will be represented by Sen. Howie Morales, District 28, who ran unopposed; Rep. Rebecca Dow, who replaces District 38 Rep. Dianne Hamilton; and Rep. Rodolpho "Rudy" Martinez takes back his District 39 seat from Rep. John Zimmerman.

In federal races of interest to Grant County, Donald Trump has won the presidency with 276 electoral college votes. He leads in four more states. Hillary Rodham Clinton has 218 electoral collegge votes and leads in one state. New Mexico went for Clinton by 48.29 percent of the vote to Trump's 40.01 percent.

 

In the U.S. Congressional races, all three New Mexico incumbents, District 1 Democrat Michelle Lujan Grisham, District 2 Republican Steve Pearce, and District 3 Democrat Ben Ray Lujan will return to their seats in Wasnginton, D.C.

The Republicans retain control of the U.S. Senate with 51 seats and one still pending. The Republicans also remain in control of the U.S. House with 236 seats to Democrats 191.
