 The Cobre school board met Monday, November 14, 2016, at Hurley Elementary. The closed portion of the agenda began at 6:00 and the public portion began at 7:20 with all five members present. Superintendent Robert Mendoza quickly moved that the Hurley class presentations be moved to the head of the agenda so parents could take their children home after they were finished.

Principal Joyce Barela introduced the teachers who were offering information to the board, and they, in turn, introduced their students and the ideas being presented. The PowerPoint-

 

After that first hour, the board resumed its business. Board president Toy Sepulveda had earlier announced that they had discussed student identifiable information and limited personnel issues, but no decisions had been made. The next consideration after the teachers and children demonstrated, was a second reading of a new payroll policy addition, which affirmed that if a holiday interfered with the regular payroll date, teachers and staff would be paid on the day preceding the interruption.

Two financial items were brought for board approval. Under the topic Budget Adjustments, two BARs were presented; one, incoming funds for GRADS Plus, which added $1250 for the high school dadsG
