The members of the Gila Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees met in a brief open session Tuesday morning, Dec. 27, 2016, before going into closed session to interview several potential candidates interested in the interim chief executive officer position.

Trustee Tony Trujillo heads the search committee looking for an interim CEO and the search for a permanent CEO to replace Brian Cunningham. Cunningham, at the end of November, tendered his resignation as chief executive officer, which was approved at the Dec. 5 special board meeting. Cunningham promised to be available through Feb. 3 for transitioning the interim CEO.

The trustees went into executive session to hold three interviews and deliberate among themselves on their choice for interim.
