The Silver City area is seeing an increase in the number of stolen motor vehicles.

So far this year, the number of motor vehicles stolen has been six. There were a total of 19 stolen in 2016. This includes 5 motor vehicles and 1 trailer.

-On January 9, 2017, at about 6:30 am, two motorized scooters were stolen from the carport in the 2400 block of Cactus Street. One was a red and black 2007 Honda. The other was a bare metal stripped down scooter.

-On January 29, 2017, at about 8:33 pm, A Honda Pilot was stolen from the 2600 block of Brianna Way. The vehicle was recovered in the area of La Capilla which is located on S. Cooper Street.

-On January 31, 2017, at about 2:32 pm, a white 2005 Artic Fox Camping Trailer was taken from Dickson Rd.
-On February 3, 2017, at about 6:01 am, a blue 2004 Dodge Caravan was taken from the 600 block of W. 13th Street. The vehicle was recovered in Arenas Valley by the Grant County SheriffG
