In cooperation with the Silver Schools Administration, the Silver City Police Department and the Silver City Fire Department will have personnel on hand to direct traffic at the intersection of 32nd Street and Silver Street to ensure student and motorist safety.

The officers will be present in the morning from 7:45 am to 8:30 am and in the afternoon from 2:45 pm to 3:45 pm during school days starting February 28, 2017. The purpose is to help with pedestrian safety as well as the flow of traffic.

Although this is a pilot program we anticipate this will last the remainder of this school year. If it is determined to be effective then we will bring it back in August, 2017.
