Gila Regional Medical Center Interim Chief Executive Officer Alfredo Ontiveros reiterated at the beginning of the Monday, March 6, 2017 CEO Selection Committee meeting that the hospital is not going to be sold nor is it going to close. "The Wellness Center is also not going to close."

"I'm here to help take care of stabilizing the revenue," Ontiveros said. "Mike Soler, president and managing partner of EWC (Executive Workforce Connections) Healthcare, is on hand as resource consultant to manage this selection process for a permanent CEO. He will be leading the training today."

GRMC Board of Trustees member and co-chairman of the GRMC CEO Selection Committee Tony Trujillo said the meeting the prior week had "covered a lot of ground. Today's is centered around our upcoming schedule."

Soler put up a flowchart for the CEO search. It began with the candidate applying for the CEO positions. They flow from EWC, ACHE (American College of Healthcare Executives), LinkedIn, Indeed and Plaxo to a Taleo database funnel for pre-screening by the resource consultant (Soler).

Ontiveros explained that ACHE is made up of hospital administrators, who can become members and later can become a fellow, which is one of the certifications for hospital administrators.
