A meal worth waiting for.
After a year's hiatus, Dutch oven cooking enthusiasts once again gathered at Glenwood Community Park to offer up tasty treats to an enthusiastic audience. Molly Bryan, who organized this year's gathering, said that after the death of Gale Moore, who had organized the contest for 14 years, none took place in 2016.
"We got a lot of calls from people who missed it," she said. So she got together people who had participated earlier and the 2017 event was on.
Bryan said that this year was different from past years in that there would not be a contest, but that the five teams would each cook a complete meal, including a meat dish, side dish, bread and dessert. "Instead of little tastes of everything, people will get a complete meal."
