Grant County 4-H is headed to the New Mexico State 4-H Shooting Sports Championships in Raton, NM in May. Last week, the Grant County Senior 4-H Shooting Sports County Contest was held where members competed for a coveted position on a team.

We have 21 members competing this year against other qualified members in the state. Seth Neal, Cole Rogers, Jadaniah Tarpley and Nathaniel Lucero are on team one for .22 Air Rifle. Team two consists of Xzavian Chavez, Autumn Laws and Haley Jacquez. Two teams also qualified in archery. Riley Brabson, Julian Garcia, Jacobi Lockett ad Morgan Bighley are on team one; Bristan Lockett, Ian Valenzuela, Cooper Miller and Javiel Garcia are on team two. One .22 Rifle team will be competing including Ty Holman, Parker McMillan, Seth Neal and Jadaniah Tarpley. Chris Morgan, Levi Dalton, Ryan Orrantia and Riley Brabson will be competing as team one in shotgun and Cooper Miller, Connor McDaniel, Jacobi Lockett and Ty Holman will compete as team two. Additionally, Bristan Lockett, Chris Morgan, Levi Dalton and Connor McDaniel will compete as team one in the hunting contest and Parker McMillan, Cole Rogers, Julian and Javiel Garcia will compete as team two.

We are so incredibly proud of these members and we know they will do well as state. We wish them the best of luck and look forward to reporting their success!
