Silver City, NM (April 20, 2017) - On Wednesday, April 19, public officials, community and business leaders, HMS Board of Directors members, and other supporters gathered to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony of the new, on-site Genoa, a QoL Healthcare Company, pharmacy located at the HMS Silver City Community Health Center on Pope Street.
The grand opening event was the 357th full-service, on-site pharmacy for Genoa, and is its second pharmacy in the state of New Mexico. HMS Chief Executive Officer, Dan Otero, stated, "HMS' addition of pharmacy services has already demonstrated improved quality of care and service to HMS patients and clients." HMS and Genoa have partnered to open a new, on-site pharmacy at the HMS Lordsburg Clinic. The Lordsburg location is tentatively scheduled to open in late-May 2017.
New Mexico State Senator, Howie Morales, Town of Silver City Mayor Pro Tem, Cynthia Ann Bettison, and Town of Silver City Councilor, Guadalupe Cano, were in attendance. Senator Morales highlighted the important role that HMS serves in the healthcare communities of Grant and Hidalgo counties. Morales also expressed his support for new pharmacy services available to HMS patients.
