Yesterday morning, May 23, 2017, around 5:25 a.m., New Mexico State Police officers responded to Interstate 10, mile marker 46 in reference to a fatal motor vehicle crash.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2009 Chevrolet Minivan driven by Ashley Henriquez (26) from Las Cruces New Mexico, passenger Joseph Henriquez (27) also of Las Cruces New Mexico, along with three children were traveling east on I-10 when the vehicle entered the median and overturned several times.

The front right passenger, Mr. Henriquez, was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

One of the children sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

No additional information is available at this time, this vehicle crash is still under investigation.
