...DENSE SMOKE ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM MDT SATURDAY...

The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has
issued a Dense Smoke Advisory, which is in effect until 8 AM MDT
Saturday.

* VISIBILITY...Below 1 mile in valley locations in western Sierra
County and northern Grant County mainly overnight and morning
hours. Otherwise 2 to 3 miles in valleys west of the Rio Grande.

* IMPACTS...Breathing difficulties will be likely when outdoors,
especially with persons having chronic lung problems. Also
motorists will have difficulty seeing the road in the areas with
the thickest smoke.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Dense Smoke Advisory means widespread fires will create smoke,
limiting visibilities. If driving, slow down, use your
headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you in case a
sudden stop is needed. Outdoor activities are discouraged due to
poor air quality.
