A public rosary recitation took place Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Gomez Peak Pavilion, sponsored by St. Francis Newman Center and organized by Yvonne Sirgany.
The rosary and prayers honored the 100th anniversary of Mary, mother of Jesus, also know as Our Lady of Fatima, having appeared to three children in Fatima, Portugal in 1916 and 1917. October 13 is the Feast Day of Our Lady of Fatima.

St. Francis Pastor Father Jaroslaw "Jarek" Nowacki said people should not be asking for their wants, but for their needs. "Prayer should be a conversation with our Lord. During prayer, in our head, we have peace. If we are tired, come to Jesus, and he will give us rest. When you pray the Holy Rosary, you are talking to Jesus' mother Mary and she will pass your needs to him."
