Reserve, NM, October 27, 2017 – For Immediate Release. Fire personnel reported smoke on Friday, October 20; and is from lightning as a result of thunderstorms that passed through the Gila National Forest on Thursday, October 19.

Eagle Fire – Located northwest of Eagle Peak Lookout and is at approximately 1 acre and has merged with the Peak Fire.

Peak Fire – Located northwest of Eagle Peak Lookout and is at approximately 20 acres.

The fire is burning in the old HB Fire (1995) burn scar. The fires are moving through downed logs and are cleaning up snags and woody debris within this burn scar.
Reserve RD fire staff will be monitoring these fires as they clean up dead and down material on the forest floor.
