Sen. Howie Morales has sponsored a Senate Joint Memorial 23 to transfer more than 300 acres of Fort Bayard to the village of Santa Clara. It is currently in the Senate Rules Committee. Everyone who loves Fort Bayard and hates to see its deterioration is encouraged to contact New Mexico representatives and senators to approve and pass the bill, so that the property can be conveyed.
