"The Little Vampire" movie is based on a children's book with the same title, written by Angela Sommer-Bodenburg, a resident of Silver City.

She has written many books using the title character. They have been translated into languages all over the world, including English from Sommer-Bodenburg's native German, and less well-known languages, such as Bahasa Indonesia and Turkish.

A film was developed in 2D and 3D last year from the first book in the series. Although the movie will have no theatrical release in the U.S., a release for home entertainment media is expected in June 2018.

The movie, in Spanish, "El Pequeño Vampiro" premiered in Mexico last week and came in fourth place overall for attendees. http://canacine.org.mx/taquilla
