The clouds and rain that had been hovering over Silver City departed for the day, and people came out to enjoy the sun during Territorial Charter Day. One of the events that took place was the Kids' Fun Run in Big Ditch Park.
Charmeine Wait, of Silver City MainStreet, said an earlier event, the Adult Fun Run had 56 participants.
Families walking through the park encouraged their children to run the short course that was set up. Participants received a Frisbee and a banana (for potassium) after completing the course.
