This will list the positions and the candidates who registered on Tuesday, March 13, to run for office in the Grant County primary election to be held June 5, 2018.

Some of the candidates have reached qualified status, while others are pending. According to the Grant County Clerk's office, the pending denotes that the office is still confirming that each is a registered voter and in the case of districts for the magistrate judge and commissioners, the county has to confirm that the candidate's residence is in the appropriate district.

Magistrate Judge, Division 1, has two Democrat candidates: incumbent Maurine L. Laney and challenger Robert E. McDonald.

Magistrate Judge, Division 2 is uncontested with incumbent Hector C. Grijalva, Democrat, on the ballot

County Commissioner District 1, has three Democrat candidates, Luis Terrazas, Donald J. Franklin-Owens and Chris M. Ponce, with one Republican candidate, Sheila A. Hudman.

County Commissioner District 2 has two Democrat candidates, Cindy Renee Provencio and Javier C. Salas, and one Republican, Tyson R. Bays.

County Assessor has incumbent Raul S. Turrieta uncontested.

County Sheriff has three Democrats, Frank L. Gomez, Lonnie Alexander Sandoval and Robert R. Tovar, vying in the primary, with two Republicans, Wayne R. Olver and Raymond M. Tavizon, Jr. challenging for the Republican slot in the general election.

Probate judge has three Democrats vying to be on the November ballot, Mary Ann C. Sedillo, Johnny E. Benavidez and David J. Ramos.
