Hidalgo County, NM - On July 28, 2018 just after midnight the New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal crash on New Mexico State Road 338 around mile post 7 north of Animas, NM.
 
The initial investigation indicated a 2000 Nissan Xterra was traveling south on State Road 338. For reasons unknown, the Nissan left the roadway and rolled. The driver Sola Kay Fisher (59) of Animas, NM sustained fatal injuries, and was pronounced deceased by the Office of the Medical Investigator.

Alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor to the crash and seatbelt was properly utilized. There were no other occupants in the vehicle and no other vehicles were involved. The crash is still under investigation and no additional information is currently available.
