August 23, 2018 – Gila Regional Medical Center (GRMC), a 68-bed acute care hospital serving Grant County in southwest New Mexico, is happy to announce their successful update to MediTech 6.15 went exactly as planned.

“This update was planned and executed exactly to specifics as detailed in our Strategic Plan,” said Gila Regional Medical Center CEO Taffy Arias. “The smoothness in which the upgrade was implemented is a reflection of the planning, training, and supervision of our Leadership Team.”

Richard Stokes, CFO at Gila Regional said, “We are now positioned to take advantage of the new “Promoting Interoperability Program” requirements recently announced by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).”

“As the largest department in the organization, Nursing was heavily involved in the update, resulting in more efficient medical documentation,” Peggy White, CNO at Gila Regional, said. “The caregivers across the organization exceeded all expectations as they dedicated the time and attention to learn how to use and implement the new update before it went live.”

Ken Stone, Gila Regional Director of Information Technology, said, “The teamwork and dedication of all involved are the reason this update was completed on time and without any errors or downtime. Our team of developers, programmers, consultants and IT support worked around the clock to make sure the update was successful and at no time was patient safety ever compromised.”
