Junior and Senior students from Aldo Leopold Charter School welcomed guests to their Fall Internship Showcase, where each student displayed a poster of what he or she had done and learned during the internship, and explained to their guests what was involved in the program.

More than 20 students participated in this year’s program, both individually and in a group, the YCC Projects. The internships ranged from welding, IT and computer science, to non-profits, school teaching, trip planning and politics. Some of interns worked with plants, some with animals; others worked in stores, a dental office and schools.

The YCC Garden Crew project trained with professional gardeners and put in time on downtown landscaping, the botanical garden, maintaining greenhouses, seed collecting and organizing, and educating elementary school students.
