According to Lt. Mike Burns of the Grant County Sheriff’s Department, a call was received by the Grant County Regional Dispatch Authority at 9:25 a.m. Thursday, Apr. 11, 2019, about a suspicious male at the Cherry Creek Campground on Highway 15 above Pinos Altos. The male was described as very dirty and said he had just robbed another male and had taken his clothes.

Deputies arrived, Burns said, a few minutes after 10 a.m. and after placing Ehrlich into protective custody, transported him to Gila Regional Medical Center. Deputies determined that Ehrlich had not robbed anyone.

Burns told the Beat that deputies would remain at the hospital until medical staff made a determination regarding Ehrlich.
