On Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at about 5:38 p.m., Grant County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the area of Mobile Drive and Ridge Road in reference to a fighting call, a ‘shots fired’ call, and a report of a male lying face down on the ground.

According to a GCSO offense report narrative, deputies placed two females and three males in investigative detention at the scene and at the Ridge Road Chevron, and interviewed one witness on Mobile Drive who had reported hearing three gunshots. A white Toyota Tundra pickup, reported as being at the scene and detained by deputies at the Chevron station, had blood on its hood, a deputy said.

A 9 mm shell casing was found by deputies along Mobile Drive, about 20 feet east of the witness’ address.

A weapon taken from one of the males turned out to be a BB gun, the report said, and was returned to the owner after it was cleared through Grant County Regional Dispatch Authority.

The report stated that all those in ID denied having anything to do with the altercation on Mobile Drive. Deputies noted that “no one was wanting to talk about what happened.” Deputies were advised, that since there was no victim, to release all those in ID.
