Reynolds Fire

Location: West of Bill Lee Mesa, Quemado Ranger District

Start Date: June 5, 2019 Size: ~28 acres Cause: Lightning

Vegetation: Ponderosa pine

Resources: Two Type 6 engines, 5-firefighters

Incident Commander: C. Pierson, ICT5 Strategy: Full suppression

Strategy: Fire personnel continue to secure perimeter.

Roaring Fire

Location: approximately ½ mile southwest of Bishop Peak

Start Date: June 5, 2019 Size: ~17.5 acres Cause: Lightning

Vegetation: Continuous ponderosa pine

Resources: one Type 6 engines, Gila IHC, 1 Type 2 Crew

Incident Commander: G. Castanon

Strategy: Confine and contain. Activity on the fire included burning the containment perimeter, holding the road network, and allowing fire to be reintroduced in the containment boundary. Fire behavior has been low severity.

The Reynolds Fire and the Roaring Fire on burning on National Forest System lands on the Quemado Ranger District, Gila National Forest.
