Silver City police officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of Pinos Altos Road, at approximately 12:31 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2019, in reference to a physical domestic complaint. When officers arrived on scene contact was made with a TLC employee who was working construction on Pinos Altos Road. The employee told officers that a ‘half-naked’ adult female ran toward them, and two males, later identified as Kevin Duran, 33, of Silver City, and Naven Rosales, 35, also of Silver City, were running after her. The employee, according to an incident report, told officers he and a co-worker put the female in one of their work vehicles.

According to the report, the employee stated the two males grabbed a stick from the ground and ‘something else’ from the ground and from a nearby vehicle to hit them because they were helping the female. The employee then stated that his co-worker took out his handgun and pointed it at the two men and they took off running back to a blue trailer.

When officers interviewed the 38-year-old female victim, according to the report, she stated that yesterday her boyfriend, Duran, hit her several times on the face and arms and began to strangle her with both hands. When he stopped, the victim said, Duran’s brother, Fabyan Duran, told Duran to choke her some more, so he did. Then, this morning, the victim told police, Duran arrived home and said, “She was going to get it.” As she attempted to escape from the home, she said, they both fell on the floor and he grabbed her by the hair and dragged her through the hallway and threw her off the porch. She then ran toward PA Road where she asked some workers for help.

The victim refused to be taken to Gila Regional Medical Center. Officers advised that photos were taken of bruises, scratches, and scrapes on the victim’s face, neck, right upper arm, and knee, and given a ride to a friend’s residence where the victim said she could stay.

Duran remains on the loose as officers attempt to locate him.
