The Southwest New Mexico Council of Governments was recently notified that it was selected to participate in the U.S. Economic Development Administration's 2019-20 AmeriCorps VISTA Program.

The letter of congratulations said the review team was impressed with the COG's project scope and believes the planned work will fulfill the program's intent to provide economic development planning and implementation capacity to the region.

Priscilla Lucero, SWNMCOG executive director, and Emily Gojkovich, economic development director, will lead the program.
