John Wenzel served as master of ceremonies for the awards ceremonies Saturday afternoon
The busiest day at the fair is usually Saturday, because people have the day off from jobs. Families visited the animals in the barns, checked out the exhibits from art, to baking contest food, flower arrangements, school art projects, individual painting and photography, vegetable, canned items, and the various vendors in the exhibit hall and outside, handing out information and selling food and other items.
The afternoon featured the awards ceremony, with youths winning cash and belt buckles for their winning livestock and poultry, as well as for showmanship and clean barn awards. Following the awards, individuals and businesses vied to purchase the winning livestock at auction to reward the winners with cash for their next projects or for college.
[Editor's Note: The Beat will post the winners as soon as the lists are received.]
