The Investiture Ceremony of Judge Jarod K. Hofacket as 6th Judicial District Judge was held on Thursday, July 5, at 10 am at the Luna County District Court. Judge Hofacket was sworn in by The Honorable J.C. Robinson in a brief ceremony followed by a reception.

The ceremony was attended by a few local dignitaries including former state Rep. Murray Ryan, Deming Mayor Andres Silva, and Dr. P.A. Feil.  Hofacket began his service of the 6th Judicial District that afternoon, reviewing cases and preparing for court.  He will serve Grant, Hidalgo, and Luna counties presiding over a docket that consists of mainly civil and domestic cases.

Gov. Susana Martinez appointed Hofacket to fill the remaining term of Judge Gary Jeffreys, who retired in January.

Hofacket lives in Deming with his wife and sons and will continue to campaign for the general election in November.
