AmBank First Friday on March 1 celebrated the more than 1,000 years in business of the downtown stores and businesses.
Before the after hours activities, an opening reception was held at the Mimbres Region Arts Council Gallery in Wells Fargo Bank for FeVa Faves, exhibiting the favorite photos by photographers Sandy Feutz and Tom Vaughan. Below, Vaughan and Feutz by two of their favorites. The photo at the top is "Fluffed" by Feutz of a spotted towhee with feathers fluffed against the cold. At the bottom, is "Intricate Beauty" of a night-blooming cereus, of which the flower blooms briefly for only one night.
Downtown, Annie Crawford of Twin Sisters Cycling & Fitness, shows a photo of her twin sisters at the shop's grand opening 14 years ago. She stood in front of paintings and drawings using the Twin Sisters mountain formation north of Silver City, for which her shop was named.
At Copper Quail Gallery on Texas Street, photographer Allen W. Sanders stands in front of his show, Land and Sky, an exhibit of dramatic landscapes.
Silver Spirit Gallery owner, Luanne Brooten, shows the variety of artwork in her shop—everything from a Snoopy-inspired jacket to a Japanese robe on the wall behind her.
