If so, then please contact the Town of Silver City Clerk's office because Mayor Michael Morones of the Town of Silver City is looking for qualified volunteers to serve on the following:

Grant County/Silver City Extra Territorial Subdivision Commission
Applicants shall demonstrate knowledge of land use and development, and a detailed resume of experience and qualifications must accompany the application. Applicants must reside within the Town boundaries to fill the vacancies on the Commission. Appointees shall be subject to the Town's Code of Ethics and the State's Governmental Conduct Act. Appointments are for a two year term.

Planning and Zoning Commission
The Planning and Zoning Commission is authorized statutorily and by Town ordinances to deliberate land use development requests and make recommendations on planning issues to the Town Council. Applicants for these vacancies shall reside within the Town. Currently there are vacancies to represent 1 member in District 2 and 1 member in District 4. The P&Z Commission meets the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. and holds special meetings as needed.

Incentive Review Committee
The Incentive Review Committee will be responsible for reviewing any Project Participation Agreements proposed or in effect and make recommendations to the Town Council. The persons will be qualified by training, experience, and ability to exercise sound and practical judgment on civic, social, economic and governmental affairs. Currently there is 1 opening to represent District 2 and 1 vacancy for a member-at-large. Appointments to the Committee shall be for terms of two years. There shall be no limitation of the number of consecutive terms a member may serve.

Museum Board
The Board shall serve as an advisory body to the Town Council for matters concerning the Museum. The Board shall devote itself to the promotion, maintenance, and development of the Silver City Museum and in its behalf shall make recommendations through the Town Manager. Specifically, the Museum Board: (1) shall participate in strategic planning processes organized by the Museum Director; (2) shall participate, when called upon, in committees associated with collections and their management, fund raising, events, planning related to Museum facilities, and other committees as may be formed for the benefit of the Museum; and (3) may recommend to the Town Manager, with the advice and counsel of the Museum Director, such policies regarding the regulation and promotion of the Museum. Currently there are 2 vacancies. Applicants shall be county residents and shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the Council's advice and consent. Terms of office shall be three years.

Library Board
The Library Board serves in an advisory capacity to the Town Council with responsibility to promote public interest in the Public Library: to review and update the plans and policies of the library; to formulate policy; and to ensure adequate financial support for the Public Library. Applicants must be Grant County residents with a known interest in the library, with a demonstrated ability to work well in a collaborative environment. Currently there are 2 vacancies. The Library Board meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 4:15 p.m. from September through May.
