The Southwest New Mexico Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union is soliciting ACLU members in southwest New Mexico (Catron, Grant, Hidalgo and Luna counties) to be nominees for its Board of Directors.

Candidates must be members in good standing as of September 9, 2014. Members should indicate their interest by sending their name and email address to: williamhudson43@msn.com.

The SWNM board meets every two months on the second Thursday of alternate months from 5 to 7:30 pm in Silver City or Deming to discuss civil liberty issues relevant to southwest NM. It is responsible for planning local activities and promoting legislation that strengthens civil liberties and for monitoring possible civil liberties violations throughout the four county region.

Please respond by September 9, 2014 as elections will occur in October at our annual meeting in Silver City.
