The Silver City Community Theatre troupe is open for business to "enrich, educate and entertain Silver City and the Grant County community by providing a broad range of quality live theater experiences on a recurring seasonal basis."

The SCCT welcomes volunteers of all ages to participate, whether as an actor, director, seasonal patron of the arts, technical or lighting specialist, stage and prop builder, stage crew, costume designer/creator, writer of publicity, or ticket-taker.

The first Silver City Community Theatre performance, A Twilight Christmas is an original One Act holiday comedy written by Randy Carr, Jim Kelly and Sharyn McDonald.

The play will premiere at the brand new, updated and upgraded Light Hall at Western New Mexico University and auditions will soon be announced, so stay tuned. Says patron Joseph Shepard, President of Western New Mexico University, "It is exciting when community members join together to form an opportunity for a theatrical venue. The Silver City Community Theatre is doing their part to better the entertainment value and the quality of life for our area."

There will be an organizational meeting on Sunday, September 21 at 2 p.m. at the Silver City Museum Annex. Anyone interested in joining or just finding out more about the organization is invited to attend. Further, the organization will be holding open auditions in October for its One Act A Twilight Christmas. Watch for future announcements as to time and place.
