Barbara Nelson, President of the local affiliate of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is pleased to announce that the Imagination Library of Grant County has hired a new Program Director. The huge success and continued growth of the Imagination Library, along with the ultimate goal to create a statewide program, brings with it the need for more help. Currently over 1,400 books are being mailed monthly to Grant County preschool children. Nelson is pleased to announce that Beth Reese started as Program Director on November 10. She said, "Filling this position allows the office to be open twice as many hours as before and frees up the board to concentrate more on sustainability and promoting the program."

Reese has been a Silver City resident for the past sixteen years, holds a Master's degree in Library and Information Science, and shares the vision of the Imagination Library. The Imagination Library is designed to help children dream more, learn more, care more, and be more. Reese stated, "As a mother and librarian I fully believe in the power and magic of reading." She encourages reading aloud to children of all ages; "I've seen the results in my children and grandchild."
