Las Cruces: The New Mexico Department of Transportation District One office has placed traffic control on NM 159 near Mogollon between mile markers 12 to 23 alerting the public of this closure. This section of the roadway closes routinely during the winter months due to the rough terrain and winter conditions.

The NMDOT's main goal is safety. Therefore, after conducting a routine observation of this route the District's maintenance office has determined that this section of roadway should be marked as closed. The district's staff will continually revisit this site to determine when this section of roadway can be reopened to the public.

The NMDOT requests that you proceed with caution as you make your travels this season.
