The Silver City MainStreet Project and First American Bank announced today the kickoff for the Holiday Season Downtown Gift Certificate Program.

According to Ken Ladner, MainStreet board member, and Gift Certificate chairman, the purpose of the program is to bring shoppers and dollars into Historic Downtown Silver City businesses.

"Gift certificates are a win-win situation for those who receive the gift certificates and for the downtown merchants who participate in the program" said Ladner. "The certificates make great gifts for the holidays, birthdays, or other special occasions. And with the wide variety of retail shops, restaurants, and other services in the downtown area, these certificates make it possible for every recipient to choose just exactly what they want."

"As a community, we're always looking for ways to keep our money circulating in our local economy," said Lucy Whitmarsh MainStreet Board President. "The Gift Certificate Program offers a way to do just that, while at the same time giving your gift a whole world of options- right here in downtown Silver City."

MainStreet Gift Certificates can be purchased in $5.00, $10.00, and $25.00 denominations at the First American Bank main office located at 1609 N. Swan Street, Alotta Gelato located at 619 N. Bullard in Historic Downtown Silver City, or the Silver City Visitors Center located at the corner of Broadway and Hudson Streets.
