Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest has several activities scheduled for this summer's fun. Our annual camp will be held at the Southwest Christian Center just outside of Cliff, NM. This year's camp is called "Wild Wild West" from June 9-June 11 for girls entering 2nd grade and above. They must be registered by May 25 for camp. For $50 girls will receive 3 days of fun, making new friends and meeting up with old friends, all meals and snacks, souvenir T-Shirt and many crafts to be taken home.

On June 17, the girls will work with PNM for "It's Electrifying" learning everything they wanted to know and more about electricity.

On June 25, girls will learn about Solar and Wind Energy at the "All Powered Up!" Day.

These last two activities are for all girls entering K thru 12th grade and are offered free of charge. If a girl is not already a Girl Scout she can register at any time, join a troop if she wishes or if she thinks she doesn't have time for weekly meetings, she can join and just attend the events she chooses. Whichever the choice, it's a great chance to meet up with friends for summer fun.

Girl Scouts is where today's girls become tomorrow's leaders. Through activities that are fun and personally challenging, girls learn decision-making skills and build self-confidence. To register for any of these events please call Annette Toney at the Girl Scout office 538-2481 to get more information.
