Silver City, NM - The Grant County Democratic Party, WNMU's L. Cloyd Miller Library, and MEChA de WNMU present the next in their series of monthly public forums, entitled "Where Is the Money? - The Impact of Capital Outlay." The forum will be held Thursday, May 21 at the WNMU Miller Library, at 6:00 pm.

A distinguished panel will discuss the millions of dollars our local communities have yet to receive because the State Legislature failed to pass this year's Capital Outlay bill.

"This should be a very educational event," stated Dr. Magdaleno Manzanarez, former vice-chair of the GC Democratic Party, a WNMU Vice President, and chair of the forum committee. We'll hear how the capital outlay system is supposed to work, and how it actually did this year." Grant County Democratic Chair Frances Vasquez stated, "We still don't know why the Governor won't call a special session to rectify the capital outlay problem she created."

Forum panelists will include Priscilla Lucero, Executive Director, Southwest New Mexico Council of Governments; Rudy Martinez, Former Representative, New Mexico House of Representatives; and Arlean Murillo, Vice President, Associated Students of Western New Mexico University. There will be plenty of time set aside for questions and comments from the audience.

As usual, refreshments will be served following the forum. Everyone who wants to know more about the inner workings of how our state is governed is invited.
