Poetry w300Poetry Lives in Silver City! A Crowd Gathers for Poetry in the Parlor with Elise Stuart and Bonnie Buckley Maldonado

Silver City, New Mexico- Last Saturday the Silver City Museum hosted Poetry in the Parlor, the latest in a series of free offerings of music and poetry. Set in the Historic Ailman Family Parlor, these events combine elegance, art, and entertainment in a unique and intimate venue.

Elise Stuart, Silver City's current Poet Laureate, and Bonnie Buckley Maldonado, Silver City's 2012-2014 Poet Laureate, were an excellent and dynamic poetic duo. Their readings touched on landscape and waterscape, personal journey, the passage of time both in our town and in life, and such local icons as Johnny Banks. This eclectic mix of local imagery came to life through these two poets' diverse yet engaging styles.

For more information and to find out what's happening next month at the Silver City Museum, visit the museum's website at www.silvercitymuseum.org or contact the museum at (575) 538-5921, info@silvercitymuseum.org.
