This Holiday weekend the Grant County Art Guild's Pinos Altos Art Gallery is ready to celebrate the 4th of July holiday with an open gallery and an array of fine arts and crafts for the locals and visitors to browse or to buy! The variety of offerings and low pricing is amazing and this weekend there will be three member artists to welcome you and show you their special exhibits.

On Friday, July 3, the featured artist will be Dawn Byrum who also serves as the Guild secretary. Dawn is a painter who also creates a variety of crafts that she enjoys selling at local art and craft shows. Her unique style of painting is enjoyed by members and visitors alike.

On Saturday, July 4, Malika Crozier returns to host at the gallery, to visit with those coming in for the first time as well as our welcomed regular patrons. Malika will have a special display of her work shown as an artist working in clay and that she refers to as "Heartful Art for Everyday Use." Malika is also showing her work in the Cloudcroft Gallery in Cloudcroft and the Chiricahua Gallery in Rodeo.

It is always delightful to have talented artists become new members of The Grant County Art Guild and this year one of those was Jackie Blurton. Jackie won the judge's recognition and ribbons for art entered in 2015 the Members Opening Art Show and will be the featured artist on Sunday, July 5. If you haven't had a chance to see Jackie's paintings or drawings, this is a great time to visit the gallery and see her work.

The Pinos Altos Art Gallery is located in the beautiful and historic Hearst Church, 14 Golden Avenue, Pinos Altos, just 7 miles north of Silver City and at the edge of the Gila Wilderness. The gallery is open to the public from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and major holidays through October 18. Browsers and buyers welcome and entry is always free.
