(SILVER CITY, NM)-Military Veterans, Guard/Reserve Members, and transitioning active-duty military personnel can learn about the many federal and state benefits available for them and their families at a free Veterans' Benefits Fair in Silver City on August 1 from 9am-2pm in the Student Memorial Building on the campus of Western New Mexico University (1000 West College Ave.)

All veterans, Guard/Reserve members, transitioning active-duty personnel, families and caregivers are encouraged to attend this free "one-stop" informational fair presented by the New Mexico Department of Veterans' Services (NMDVS)--the state agency which advocates on behalf of and provides assistance for the 170,000 veterans living in New Mexico

NMDVS Silver City-based Veterans' Service Officer Bradley Brock is scheduled to be joined by representatives from the VA Health Care System, VA Regional office, NM Department of Workforce Solutions and other federal, state and local agencies with information for veterans and their families about:

According to the latest VA data, more than 9,100 veterans live in the five-county southwestern part of New Mexico.
