Grant County Seed Library

How it works:

• You become a member by filling out a member card.
• You borrow seeds
• You plant your seeds and grow food, flowers, and/or herbs
• You harvest your produce and save some seeds for next year's garden
• You return some seeds to the seed library

The permanent home of the Grant County Seed Library is at the Commons on 13th St between Swan and Corbin. Hours are Monday - Thursday, 9-12 and 1-4.

The seed library sponsors forums on topics related to gardening and seed saving. Forums are held in the meeting room at 614 Bullard St, adjacent to the Farmers Market, on the third Saturday of each month from 11 to 12. Schedule for 2015-16 is as follows:

Jul 18: Fall planting
Aug 15: Seed saving I
Sep 19: Seed saving II
Oct 17: Putting the garden to bed for the winter
Nov 21: Composting & vermiculture
Dec 19: Planning next year's garden
Jan 16: Soil building
Feb 20: Early spring planting
Mar 19: Raised bed & container gardening
Apr 16: The Glass Gem Corn Club (heirloom corn)
