Build the greenhouse rsThe Silver City Food Co-op and the Silver City Farmers Market are collaborating to build a hydroponic greenhouse.

The greenhouse is being built behind the Food Co-op Market Café at 614 N. Bullard St. and will be used for education and to grow greens for the Café and Grab 'n Go Deli.

The Co-op is excited to provide a greenhouse to educate the public on hydroponics and how to grow food at home. Volunteers are being sought to help construct the greenhouse and once built, to help grow the greens. This is a great way to learn about hydroponics and to see if you want to build a greenhouse for yourself. Hydroponic greenhouses in Grant county are currently being used to grow greens, herbs, and tomatoes.

If you are interested in volunteering, the next build date is Wednesday, September 2, at 10 am at 614 N. Bullard St. Please contact charmeine@silvercityfoodcoop.com.

The mission of the Silver City Food Co-op is to cultivate personal, community and environmental health by sustaining a cooperatively owned market. For more information, please contact the Co-op at (575) 388-2343, or visit our website www.silvercityfoodcoop.com.
