Tuesday, Nov. 17, is the date for the next state-certified Alcohol Server Training class in Silver City, which will be provided in Suite 11, Hudson Plaza, at 315 S. Hudson St., the offices of Border Area Mental Health Services. The class is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

"People who attend the class and successfully pass a 50-question multiple choice test at the end of the instruction will be immediately certified to sell or serve liquor anywhere in New Mexico for three years," said Steve May, a BAMHS program specialist and a state-approved instructor for the class. "The training is for individuals who are seeking to renew their certifications and also for newly-hired workers who must be certified before they can sell or serve beer, wine and all other alcoholic spirits," May explained.

Cost of the class is $35 per person and can only be paid with cash, cashier's checks or money orders, he said. No personal checks will be accepted.
